Oatley Park

Postby marcusus » Tue Dec 26, 2006 10:58 pm

Dunno if it's been brought up or not, but I'll mention it again. For those of you who live around Oatley in Sydney, there's a great little fang around I found today care of my cousin who lives out that way.

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=16&ll ... 20084&om=1

It starts out as two way (well, where I started anyway) but quickly changes to one way. Lanes are about 1.5 standard lane, and there's plenty of twisties to be done. It really reminds me of Galston Gorge, but obviously one way, and without the annoying hairpins. You also get some nice waterviews on the way. Only major problem is having a learner ahead of you ( happened today) and a fair few people seem to use it as a walking track too (also happened today, but is really probably fair enough).

Anyone else done it before?

Hey,

I know which park you're talking about.

I live around that area, and I really wouldn't recommend driving fast there.

Oatley Park is a popular place for families with small children, people that walk their dog etc. It's also right next to a primary school. Due to this the speed limit there is like 20kmh or 40kmh.

Don't mean to sound negative, keep on posting up good places to drive.

Yeah, I agree. Unlike Galston Gorge, it seemed to have a lot more foot traffic (the Gorge literally has none), which is a real shame considering how fun those twisties were. The limit is 20 too ;)

But damn you could have some fun there if you could close it off for a day...

Hehe,

Wonder how much the council would accept as a \"donation\" for it to be closed off.

If you're down at Oatley again, try out some Pies from the Oatley Pie Shop.

Might be a while before I'm down again, but I'll try and keep it in mind ;)
