So apart from Magpie and those that spoke to me at the track day, does anyone else want to attend this day???

If so if you could get in touch me as soon as possible so I can make sure we can get on the morning session, as that seems to be everyone's preference.

It is a great opportunity to get some tuition to improve your driving and to drive another track. Morgan Park is one of favourite tracks as it has a bit of everything and is a great test of both the car and you without being hard on the car.

So I want to get this happening and sorted in the next day or so.

If you haven't already spoken to me and have been undecided about doing this day, fill the forms in and send them to me.

I want to get the paperwork sorted and us booked in for the morning session by the end of the week at the latest.

FWIW, these days at Morgan Park hosted by SDT are great!! I can't make it to this one unfortunately, but if you've ever thought of getting out on the track, or even just haven't dríven MP, then this is highly recommended!!! The SDT instructors will ride with you and give you advice to improve your driving. .....And Morgan Park is a great track, especially for MX5's. :D

Well, there are six turning up for a great morning of having a blat around Morgan Park.

Now to make the decision of which car to take as I don't get to drive on the track, so do I take the 5 for a decent early morning run with the top down, or the ute with woosh for a nice early morning run with POWAHHSSSSS and cruisy comfortable trip home at the end of a long day.

Mark take the Amarock out, or if you have the dollars, hire one of SDT's cars, either the 86 or the Integra.......

What problems have been found?????

If nothing has changed from he last time you took it out surely just a rev limit would be safe. Still worth going to learn a bit if the motor can be run safely at a reasonable limit.

It is a motor issue and Jason recommends that more time is taken to look into it. I'm not happy about the not going, but I will not risk the engine.

I have a red NA6 on the trailer at the moment and instead of a dodgy day strip it could be a dodgy day get it track ready, however my part of the car is the shell not the motor :)

Who paid the money to get the car???

If you paid it and haven't been paid for the bits yet it's yours complete!!!!! :D

So I would be prepping that car for the track day, especially if all it needs is a set of tyres thrown at it and some new fluids......

Plus it would be a good check to make sure it all runs well..........

Also highlights the advantages of old school stuff......

The old L series just went and went until it sounded sick and then still went. Did the Noosa Hillclimb in 2010 with 4 out of six pistons with smashed lands. Compression was still measuring up near 210 with only 20lb/inch2 difference. Still made a healthy 150rwhp when it was very sick and still left 2x100m black stripes off the line

Ignorance is bliss, though you do know it will cost, but when you are looking at a full rebuild anyway, you can let it go bang.......

Track the amarok! Best way to find what it's capable of!

A great day was had by all by the feedback I got, and I got to sit in some great cars during the day.

A long day for me, got home at 7, tired and sunburnt.

Also found out I don't fit in a lotus when the rag top is on and I am wearing a helmet, and there is no way of getting in or out and retaining any dignity......

I think all the guys that fronted for the day got something out of it in terms of learning and also getting to experience what I think is the best track in Queensland to set a car up on.
