You will go through at least half a tank.
Fill up before heading out and you will need to fill up coming home
You will get plenty of track time.
And take advantage of the tuition offered. When you start running the whole track, grab one of the guys to go with you, you will learn a lot.
This is one of the few opportunities you will get to have basically free driving coaching provided to you with instant feed back.

Re: SDT Track Day - Morgan Park 24 October
Thanks again all.
Re the rollbar.
It's been a big struggle to get the front four bolts lined up.
Now the feet sit with the rear most two holes on each foot a fair way off the parcel shelf. Should just about be enough to get the nuts threaded on the bolts.
Do we just 'crunch' the parcel shelf to meet the rollbar?
Most things online I've read say there will be a gap.
Wish I could work out how to quickly post pictures but I'm just wasting time.

Keep tightening the bolts until they are "properly" tight without using what you feel like excessive force. If you think that you're deforming the bodywork too much then leave it at that. We can easily tighten them up tomorrow.
Those roll bars were actually measured and fabricated off an NB and when they trialled it on an NA and only found marginal tolerance difference they left it at that. So fit on NA. Aren't as good.
Pretty sure my old NA was the first commercial roll bar fitted for NA, may have been the very first regardless.
Another tip: bring as many tools and spares as you can. I always bring all my tools, oil and coolant, zip ties, tape, assortment of nuts and bolts etc. I even bring parts that were working fine when i upgraded, eg spark plugs and leads, brake pads, radiator cap....

Don't forget I'll have the back of the Amarok to carry some stuff. I'll have a range of tools etc with me as well.

Cheers gents.
I think she's in.
Plenty more tightening and a bit more refitting of odds and sods to go. Think I'll sleep tonight.
If I wasn't a deformed hunchback before, then I definitely am now.
Will be making vroom vroom noises on the way home.

That's more gear than I take for my race car to a race meeting.....
For this day, if the car is in well maintained condition it will be fine.
The most important thing is adjust your tyre pressures before you get there, measure at cold before you leave home and note how much air is needed and put that much in at the servo.
And when you get there, clean everything out of the car and boot, you don't want anything rolling around the floor or anything flying around the interior.

Re: SDT Track Day - Morgan Park 24 October
What a day! Thanks SDT and all the MX5 drivers, enjoyed the day and the company! The track combination (J) that was used at the end was so much fun.
Chris gave some great feedback on the car and was about 0.5 sec quicker than my time, however he did suffer a weight advantage with me in the passenger see!
I'll make a separate post on the FZ201's vs the AD08's, suffice to say based on the current setup of the car it was faster with the AD08's on by 0.5 secs. I'm not surprised.
There was some great entertainment on the day, for example my mistake...

Re: SDT Track Day - Morgan Park 24 October
Many thanks to Chris for again taking my car for a spin, despite the disadvantage of having my weight in the passengers seat and having no seat time in my car in just a few laps he was already quicker than my PB
Can't say enough about how much you can learn on these days not only about yourself as a driver but about your car.
Comments on the car were:
Excellent initial turn in, however then starts to push and rear brakes lock up too early.
As we discussed the alignment was not optimal for the FZ201's (only -2.5 camber), front spring rates could be increased and more than likely a manual brake bias (discussed the current setup and pads being used).
My line is Red Chris is Blue (Layout E). Obvious on T6 and T11

Chris best lap.

And here is the lap by Chris (the camera suction cap was a bit loose, adds to the sense of speed)

Must have been great to have some clear air with no engine misfiring! Lecky ties!
